Breathable HDPE Shade Sail
Cool shade that breathes, built for hot climates.
Request a Quote & Catalog →The Awnova Breathable HDPE Shade Sail is a knitted high-density polyethylene tension sail engineered for hot, high-glare environments where solid fabrics trap heat. As a factory-direct manufacturer with full OEM/ODM capability, we ship these sails worldwide with your colors, sizes, and branding. Explore the full Shade Sails range to spec a program for your market.
Why breathable HDPE works
Unlike PVC or coated fabrics, our knitted HDPE blocks up to 95% of UV radiation while letting hot air escape through the weave. This lets heat rise and pass through rather than building up underneath, keeping the space beneath the sail noticeably cooler.
The open knit also sheds wind load instead of acting as a solid sail, so the structure handles gusts more forgivingly. Rain passes through the fabric, which means no water pooling and far less stress on anchor points and posts.
Build & materials
Each sail is cut and double-stitched with UV-stabilized polyester thread, reinforced at the corners with webbing and marine-grade 304/316 stainless steel D-rings for high tension loads. Edges are taped and curved to keep the membrane taut and flutter-free.
Fabric runs roughly 180-340 gsm depending on density grade, with colorfast, mildew-resistant pigments. Hardware kits (turnbuckles, pad eyes, snap hooks) and optional 6063-T5 aluminium or steel posts can be supplied to complete an installed system.
Customization & OEM
We manufacture to your specification: triangular, square, rectangular, or custom multi-point geometries, in standard and bespoke sizes. Choose fabric color, density, edge style, and corner hardware.
Full OEM/ODM service covers private-label packaging, printed logos, branded hang tags, and custom retail kits. We support distributors and importers with consistent batch quality backed by SGS testing.

Buyer FAQs
Do you offer OEM/ODM and private labeling?
Yes. We provide full OEM/ODM service including custom sizes and geometries, your color and density spec, printed logos, branded hang tags, and private-label retail packaging.
What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?
MOQ is negotiable based on size and customization. Standard production lead time is about 4-6 weeks, shipped FOB or CIF to your port worldwide.
How is the fabric different from PVC or coated shade fabric?
Knitted HDPE is breathable: it blocks up to ~95% of UV while letting hot air and rain pass through the weave, so it runs cooler and handles wind better than solid PVC-coated fabrics.
Can you supply posts and installation hardware as a complete kit?
Yes. We offer turnbuckles, pad eyes, snap hooks, and optional 6063-T5 aluminium or powder-coated steel posts to ship a complete, ready-to-install system.
